We invited our Rookies to understand and experience the journey of fresh fish as it travels from sea to service.
Twelve learners from across our sites spent a day learning about the creatures of the deep, as they visited M & J Seafood, where they were taken on a tour of the site and introduced to over 25 species of fish. They were then given a masterclass in filleting fish, before getting their heads into the books as they were shown important business skills, from company structuring to finance.
The team then headed off to Anglesey for some fresh sea air, as they called into a popular Menai mussel farm for some shucking and sampling of the tasty produce. The ‘hands-on’ hospitality training programme gives Rookies the opportunity to experience several exciting external trips throughout their training.
